In My Father's Arms

When thoughts of the past pierce my soul; and the pain they carry, bring me down; I run for shelter to Your arms. There my refuge can be found.

When my past comes back to life, and all it's regrets overtake my day; I run to you as a frightened child, seeking shelter and a place to stay.

With gentle power, You lift me up. You hold me close, with the love you show; I am safely in My Father's Arms. There is nothing else I need to know.

The winter is past, the rain over and gone,

cold and barren days are no longer strong.

During this season when your faith was tried,

Day into night your heart just cried.

The mountain would not move, the sea would not part,

You could not understand, how I was preparing your heart.

When the days were lonely, your soul was tried by fire.

Now My precious will is your only desire.

You have purchased gold, gold is so fine.

Rise my child, it is your time to shine.
